Identify the Cause of Your Tooth Pain Here

Do you have a toothache? If so, you’re probably trying to identify the cause behind it so you can solve the problem and return to comfort. Well, our dentist, Dr. Ned Todorov, is happy to help you determine the culprit so you can achieve your goals, and he is happy to help you do so by listing the causes behind tooth pain.

The first cause could be damage. This could be from something like a broken tooth or even having an object stuck between the teeth or in the gums. It could also be from a broken dental crown, dental filling, or other dental restoration.

The second cause could be decay. Decay is bacteria creating holes in the tooth enamel and causing pain. If you’re not careful, the decay can infect the inner layers of the tooth, causing even more discomfort.

The third cause could be disease. The disease could be gum disease or even oral cancer. Typically, gum disease would be the more common cause of the tooth pain because of the red, swollen, and infected gums as well as the receded gums and exposed tooth roots.
